Yeah yeah sure sure I'm feeling insecure again.

Oh BTW now you're here, mind taking a look there http://answers.echinacities.com/node/239680 ?

Here's what I said on the "scam.com" section: ...you will find a couple of very prolific accounts from the network. « Meteor » and « Curious Carol » which are mainly in the business of – as usual - sucking their own dicks from within...

Cut your visa bullshit and let's talk about that, it's better entertainment.

bill8899:

Another anonymous post linked to something by Curious Carol. Sure it is \only coincidence.

See this is why they shouldn't let anonymous posting.

i hate going and throwing around accusations though it's usually pretty obvious who the scammers are.

whoever posted this is definitely 100% a CFTU-guy account, and it would be good to be able to know not to take their other posts seriously.

on the other hand. Blocking anon users wont really do anything. This is their purpose in life. They will just make endless accounts.  which will also cause everyone to  distrust and alienate any new legit posters as well.  Just us over and over again.  Better to just let it lie. They are are going to die sad and alone anyways. Thats good enough for me.

I really just wanna meet this guy. If it's not a wumao I bet he's this totally unassuming ESL teacher at some crappy university. Just leads this secret double life posting about his fake union and calling people recruiters.

I bet even he doesn't really know why he does it. just compulsive liar.

Monsieur:

People will always have their own opinions but when it comes to China visa laws they are black and white - not opinions. Back home our governments also arrest and deport a shitload of people every day.  Why should Chine be any different?

This new President Xi seems to be on a anti-corruption mission ("Tigers and Flies") and a lot of "flies" are in the Education business - unlicensed "learning centers", job recruiters, and... illegal aliens (maybe a third of our teaching colleagues). It should be expected that the cops will eventually do their jobs one day. And it appears they started about a month ago in Beijing:http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?t=635700

This might be crazy talk, but why would you want to pay through the nose for fake documents and work illegally?

Then spend your life looking over your shoulder and dodging the police only to be imprisoned and deported when you are finally caught.

We've all had job offers to work illegally but it is easier (and cheaper, not to mention safer) to be fully legit.

Monsieur:

Exactly. It simply is not worth risking legal problems and the expense, and your freedom for a crappy-paying job.

Funny how it links to bogus posts about people being denied visas in other countries because they were deported from  China.

Watch locked up abroad and you will know that there is no way to be denied a visa based on what occurred in another country unless you were flagged as a potential terrorist and countries barely share that info.

I will play devil's advocate here, because being fairly new here as a poster i see a lot of "preaching to the choir" - people with presumed opinions supporting each other.  I have been a spectator here at ECC for about three years.  So here is the pattern I see....

If a group of 3 or more veteran posters agree on something here, anyone who comes along with an opposing point of few gets gang-raped and mugged and bashed so heavily they leave.  Or, if they continue to stand their ground they get banned - and apparently lose the argument by involuntary default.  Mods and Admin have the awesome power of censorship at their fingertip.

I don't know much about the CFTU, I'm not a member, (met a few that are) and had no interest in going to meetings when I was invited two years ago, I barely have time to wipe my ass these days. BUT, I do know two of my colleagues that were arrested and deported in the last six months as "illegal aliens" for not having the right visa.

I was also contacted from a New World ESL company with job offers, even though I never sent them a resume or had any contact with them since I landed in China. How did theses people who do not even exist get my name and teaching history??? Because it was a good-paying job I went to the strangest interview in my life where I was videotaped during the interview. It was at a UBC coffee shop at Weigongcun and how many coffee shop interviews have YOU ever had with a video handcam sitting on a mini tripod on the table?!?!?!? Anyway, the "interviewer"  talked very little about the job but a lot about my qualifications. I am 100% legit yet this is the first time ever in China that I was not offered a job.

This morning I got this link from my GF http://www.scam.com/showthread.php?p=1811076#post1811076 and it mentions the same Weigongcun coffee shop. Okay, maybe it is just a coincidence.

Now lets say just for giggles, my profession was a ESL teacher recruiter. I need not get a license, don't need an office, and can work with throw-away email addresses and sim cards right?  I don't even have to use my real name.  If someone - anyone started exposing me on every ESL/TEFL forum,  put on me on a bunch of blacklists, and even published my photo (like the CFTU does) I would do one of two things; 1) look for a new line of work, or 2) Do everything I could to discredit the bastards.  And no, I would not think twice about creating a few user names on a handful of expat forums and make myself look better by making the anti-scam groups look bad.

Based on my own experience, those of my two buds getting deported, the BTV news from about 2 weeks ago, I know this to be true:

1. The new visa laws are being enforced more strictly than ever before

2, My school had a random visit and two teachers boogied out the back door

3. The "warnings" we used to get are now ancient history

4. For good or bad, the CFTU does exist and they do have a large following

5. Illegal Aliens also get arrested and deported by the score in the West every day - why should we expect any different in China?

6. All of this BS would be meaningless if people just avoided recruiters and found their own jobs right?

I cannot be against ESL Watch,  The CTA,  CFTU,  China Scam Busters, or any group, even if they cooperate, that exposes frauds or warns me about a trap that I may not see on my own.

Like Shining Brow said these people do answer emails and they did send me a lot of stuff for free with out asking me for a dime. Since they were apparently banned here, I would suggest you guys unban them so you guys can bash and trash them directly and they in turn can defend themselves.

This is my personal minority opinion. Some of you may be right and some of you may have income from recruiting teachers just like my roomie. He teaches full time and recruits part time.  So if you want to dump on me too for having an objective opinion, be my guest.  And no, I will not base my real life visa situations on a TV show. My embassy and SAFEA are my source of Chinese visa laws. And according to some IELTS examiners I know, deported people from most every country except a small handful are flagged in immigration databases globally.  Shit, I once overstayed my visa in Costa Rica as an ecotourist by 2 days (seven years ago) and it took me over a year to get a visa to go teach in Korea. This is reality not some theory.

RiriRiri:

And how about you get the people you "know" to start answering there http://answers.echinacities.com/node/239680

Cause, you know, in case you didn't notice, long paragraphs of long allusive fillers about everything but actual concrete answers don't impress anyone anymore.

And no, I for one is not even close to be a hardcore user on ECC, and I sure as hell don't have any influence over the admin.

What we have in common, I and most of us who call your BS out, is that our background and the diversity of our answers gives us personalities that make us real, as opposed to new accounts posting a bunch of random boo stories we can find posted everywhere in the whirlpool of dump I have exposed here http://answers.echinacities.com/node/239680 and still expecting a convincing answer. Come on, don't be afraid.

But yeah, that will take more work than just posting random blah.

Chill RiRiRiRi.  I am nobody's lawyer and its not my job to defend anyone or contact people to satisfy your curiosity. I am just stating my own personal opinion here. Maybe some of the people who were banned could better answer your questions, or maybe you should just send the people you want answers from an email.  As I suggested, above, unban the CFTU and let them speak for themselves and answer your questions. I am not their advocate or even a fan. I subscribed to their "Red Flag Alerts" some requested some of their free stuff - period. They have always ansered my emails - usually within 3-5 days.

Well, the problem is that you simply don't get to play the "independent observer" card. Not after this http://answers.echinacities.com/node/239680 , which is the absolute proof that you are bullshit (as well as your last paragraph, truly you're trying to draw yourself a personality but you just fail on so many levels because you're lazy). No one, and I say NO ONE ever ever ever ever talks seriously about the CFTU and about ANY of the bullshit described here http://answers.echinacities.com/node/239680 as a real organization. No one except you trolls of course. But heh, try to prove me wrong. And don't tell me you're not advocating, when 90% of your long history of posting (29 messages so far) has only ever been about this very topic.

Monsieur:

Yes RiRi, I choose to be an observer. I have no vested interest in anything other than my family and some real estate back home.  Keep trashing those people all you like - I don't care.  From what I know, none of the groups you mention sell anything, and I don't see ANYONE who claims they were cheated in any way by them. And whether we like certain people or not, they seem to have exposed quite a few bad apple schools and recruiters over the last few years and I almost went to work for one of the sleaze until I saw their warning at eslcafe.com.  My only gripe is that users here trash someone who is not allowed to post any rebuttal in their own defense. That seems a bit unethical to me. Seriously, I suggest you check out the New World ESL story and go for the interview if they call you. Then we can have coffee or a beer together ok. I am nobody's enemy in this world God created for us to share. I can live with disagreement - can you?

You're full of shit Monsieur.

You are NOT playing devil's advocate. Every fucking time one of your accounts pops up I issue the same challenge:

One person with a name, face and history steps forward and I take it all back. I don't have anything against the idea of the CFTU I have something against the reality of the CFTU which is that it's a bullshit network of fake sites that makes outrageous claims.

I made that challenge here and was accused of being a recruiter:

I never suggested anyone join ANY group including the CFTU. I am not promoting them got it?  I realize I have a minority opinion. You need not agree with me. I was personally interviewed by a company that we now know does not exist. Yet they have a website http://newworldesl.com.  This has NOTHING to do with the CFTU or anyone else. It is my own experience. If you read my comments above and look at the BTV News clip and the invitation letter posted at thebeijinger, com

it is obvious that some sting operation is under way and people are getting burned because if their dodgy job agents.  Let me ask you something straight up - do you know the real name of the last recruiter you used?

We can argue until the moon turns blue. I just expressed my own opinion and shared my own experience.  You keep trying to link everything to groups I don't belong to.
