Q: Missionary killed by tribe.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/11/21/us-tourist-killed-reclusive-...

Apparently there's still one small place on earth where people live off the land, hunting and gathering.

They probably have a great system going there with no materialism, greed, poverty, debt, taxes, landlords, politicians, political correctness, junk food, drug addiction, religious wars, media brainwashing, soul destroying 9 - 5 jobs, destruction of their environment etc...  and they're protected - as they should be - so that their way of life and culture is preserved and they aren't wiped out by outside diseases. Nice to see we've learnt something from years of colonialism.

So of course some arrogant Christian missionary, presumably with the backing of his church, decided they need to be converted and was promptly killed.

I don't blame them at all for killing any outsider on sight.

He was religious but was not working as a missionary. Agreed that he had absolutely no business being there though. I have read about the Sentinalese before, at no point would I ever want to try to contact these people. The arrogance on this guys part bothers me. He could have carried pathogens that would have wiped these people out and he did it for pics on his Instagram account.

religion sure does cause a lot of problems. some religions kill people because those people follow another religion. What is interesting as both religions will claim to follow a god that says "thou shall not kill".

What gets me is the twitter feeds on the MSN articles about this. Quickly followed up with articles explaining what uncontacted people are. The ignorance is amazing. A big failure from Sting I say. Remember him? The singer that said leave uncontated ppl alone, then set off into the forest to watch their 'aloneness'.

There're no news about 'how ...', i.e. 'premeditated' or 'deliberate' and similar terms... The guy might got grilled, before the 'swallowing' process.

Kinda silly them going to the trouble to get the body* back.  So more people can die getting his body back?  What's this human fascination with taking care of dead bodies anyway?  The fkr is dead.  Hell, cremate me and be done with it.  Unless you are super-cool like Commander Amstrong and rate a burial at sea.  That way u get back in the Food Chain.  Fish gotta eat too!

*probably no body left to be recovered anyway,,, bet they made shish-kebap outta him....

The parents have forgiven the uncontacted tribe for killing their son.

Good on them.

The Amish done the same when a redneck shot up an Amish school.

But there is a difference.

These Christians lost their son for the cause, to get their heaven ticket.. but never once questioned why their omnipotant God had not already done the job.

The difference is, the Amish forgived, raised money for the killers funeral, and expected nothing back from God.

I suspect the missionaries parents now feel their place in the afterlife is assured.

Its very similar to an Islamic suicide bomber when you think about it.

Die for the cause, your place in heaven is assured and all that.

The whole thing about uncontacted tribes is too big for my feeble mnd. I have been reading about it for years. My interest started with the Pitcairn sex abuse scandal.

Basically, Pitcairn island is british. Mutiny on the bounty and all that. Turns out the men were raping the girls. The brits sent cops, the islanders said it was cultural.

What if uncontacted tribes do the same? What if they do sex abuse or maybe human sacrifice? Maybe they BBQ babies to satisfy their God.

We dont know what they do. They are uncontacted by definition.

There is a moral issue. Leave them alone, let their kids be born into God knows what, or enforce UN human right laws around the globe.

A:Wow, you really found that nitpicky talking point that elevates the fossil fuel industry to the same level as the interests of humanity. Isn't it all just a "liberal" scam, if you don't look too closely at the absence of logic? "Yes, it must be. My masters are hinting that that's what I should believe!"

You've made it clear you are consciously ignoring the pollution and global warming. Since your handlers, the conservative establishment whose dismantling of the carbon credit system and environmental destruction you choose to ignore, have made it clear you should bark in this direction, you are eager to please!

Such an admirably domesticated, dependable, subservient human. I'm sure your handlers will throw you a bone while they bring home the bacon for themselves. You're so obedient, you deserve a doggie cookie! Who's a good boy? You are! Yes, you are. U-S-A! Woof woof woof! -- coineineagh
