In my home country that would cost the mother a fine upwards 1000RMB. Public peeing is actually tolerated, e.g. if you are in a park you can water a bush as long as you do so without making anyone around you uncomfortable by taking out the ol' firehose. So technically only possible in deserted places or places where you can sufficiently go behind something. And of course never in a place with a roof.

I am from Canada and I must admit, I taught my son to pee on a tree when he was 2 years old...  no problem....he didn't like the smell of the outhouse at the campground .....  then he thought it was okay at home in the backyard too, find a tree and pee.

I was also reported by the women at my local golf course for peeing in the bush....the women wrote a letter to the golf club....... my buddy and landlord

(the local golf club president) responded with a very official letter that basically stated that the women would be allowed the same privilege as the men  on his golf course.

city folks have a lot to learn!!!

There is a difference between using a bush, where there may not be a public convenience available and you can be discreet, and a shopping mall or building where you are near a toilet, but don't bring a child there. At home, parents train their children to let them know in advance that they need to find a toilet, and not wait for the last possible minute. Usually if the parents are not near a public toilet, shops will oblige by allowing the desperate parent to let their child avail  of their staff toilet.

This is again the Chinese having a lack of respect for others. There is a certain stench attached to urine and faeces, and nobody walking past a garbage bin wants to be forced to put up with that stench in a public place.

Additionally, somebody has to empty that garbage bin, and they shouldn't be expected to have to deal with other people's bodily wastes. It is also an unfortunate reality of life that many homeless people find their food in garbage bins, and such food is now contaminated. I always put food and drink on the edge of the bin, rather than in it, to make it easier for homeless people.

In no way was I condoning the ignorance of this woman, with my own very different experiences.............  the pics are here and I have no doubt that she could be identified and brought to justice............  I have no idea about the real legal things... don't care.....  but I think morally and ethically and  just plain common sense says she should be given about a $200 fine  and she should be allowed to supply and change the garbage bags within about 100 ft. of her unfortunate mishap.............  imagine the tirade when she is given her sentence....  maybe got a long term mall cleaner.... cheap, but probably unreliable.....she'd go back to Hong Kong....infuriated.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
