Q: Sleepless in China?

Are your stressors taking you away from your beauty sleep?

Do you want to trust your boss, but every time you do you get a wake up call?

Do you find yourself making the same mistakes over and over again but you cannot help it?

Do you like your boss/manager but hates that he/she lies to you constantly?

Where here can you find a job where the boss/manager has no need to lie to you?kiss

Do you.......kiss maybe I should try to get some sleep and stop the thinking.

everything you just said and then more use to cause me so much anxiety here that i lost countless nights of sleep.  about a year ago i realized that if i didn't hold chinese to my western expectations, it didn't bother me as much.  i did become more argumentative about things that schools would try to pull on me and their gimmicks stopped.  after i started doing these things, my sleep got significantly better.. except when my rude ass neighbor decides to piss me off and i start a fight with him... but that is another story...

I sometimes lose sleep thinking of a good class to do.

When i am given a new class and told 'teach them english' without any idea of their level, or what i am expected to do in class.

I was told once to make a university Freshman class 'love English' and thought 'wtf: they just want a dancing monkey'. angry

I turned down a very good salary because this was what i was told the Middle school wanted from their foreign 'teacher'

Nope, not any more. Now I sleep well, almost too well. I changed from unis to a high school associated with a U.S.  school. I might have to stay awhile.

Start next week, Salary is nice, just... Need to get more stuff to protect my family from the pollution ...

this 7 years here... some was nice, some was terrible, but the older I am, the better I can sleep Smile This and the new job, wish for nice deep sleep with mornings&blowjob&coffee ...

I sleep like a baby in China since I like chaos. Besides, if someone screws me, there will be... terrible, terrible reprisals. I sleep soundly knowing that everyone who screws me is just one day closer to their doom. It fills me with happiness to know they'll soon regret everything.

Can't really sleep well in 'murica. It's quiet... too quiet.

Why just stressors?  How about beds made for people 180 cm and shorter?  If I didn't use a pillow, and didn't mind sleeping with my head against a headboard or wall, I would barely fit the standard bed.  If I get up to use the john in the middle of the night, I have to be awake enough to have bad posture going through the door - the 188cm tall door.

If the gov't wants to modernize, how about realizing that thanks to improved nutrition there are many tall Chinese?  When I ask them where they buy shoes and clothing, they all say, "I have a friend send me stuff from America."

It'd be a lot easier and less wasteful to change the standards for new construction to accommodate taller people that to do the retrofits which will be necessary in many places.

Until then, I'll have to keep trying to sleep with my feet hanging off the bed.  Not very comfortable, nor restful.

Try getting a better bed, if that doesn't work, take two at bed time.

I get sleepless when i go to bed thinking on what i have to do.

some things i have learned to help me sleep at night,

1. Keep your office out of the bedroom if at all possible.

2. clear your mind before going to bed.

3. Turn your ringer off on the cell phone , and leave it on vibrate.

4. have some fun.

5. have someone to talk to close by.

just some friendly tips.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
