I've heard stories that years ago guys in Mexico would kill over the worm in a bottle of Tequila. My hats off to Chinese for drinking baijiu and with a snake in it at that, what balls. YUCK.

andy74rc:

Uhm..... in the mountain area of my province, in the past (till not so long ago, seen when I was a kid) some people used to put a viper in a bottle of Grappa, for some therapeutic purposes.

I'm wondering who learnt if from who?

I call bull-feces on this one. A snake surviving for 3 months without oxygen? Ah, she did not fill the bottle completely, her fault. Also, since when does snake-baiju cure arthritis?

Rin:

Since when does snake baijiu cure anything? Let alone arthritis! angry

Scandinavian:

I am pretty sure snake baiju can cure some things, such as being too much alive, having too good eye sight etc.

Maybe the snake was dead and slipped out. The fangs could still have venom.

could be just the snake slipped, but that sure doesn't make the woman look any less like a clown. kind of like those stories you hear of people going to the emergency room with a mobile phone up their bottom and then saying "but doctor, I slipped and fell on it, no way I was doing some kind of sick self-pleassure or extreme durability test of a Nokia 3110"

I just don't understand how the snake remained alive? Doesn't it have to come up for air? And doesn't it have to eat to survive? I think it's totally strange- not sure I believe it.

Rin:

My uncle had a snake when I was a kid, he would feed it once a month, that's all they need apparently. So three months could be possible. It is a bit far fetched though.

With all of that TCM cr@p that I bet was inside the woman's bloodstream, I hope they whipped the snake off to the zoo pretty rapidly for a top up of anti-venom.

A:Yes, you can get legal ET job by the Chinese Labor law.  Problem is, most Chinese managers and recruiters don't know, they can obtain Working permit for a non-native English teacher with BA completed in a native English country. I'd suggest, you mention possibility of legal employment for non-native English teacher with degree completed in a native English country at the first interview. It's a tough time in China at your example, IMO.  Most recruiters and hiring managers in China know only "ET must hold a native English passport ..", so your job application get dismissed right there. The other thing is, never stop sending your CV to the job offers doesn't matter if no replies. At my time in China (pre-2017), I'd send CVs to every offer posted daily.I've even disregarded advert's requirement 'native English passport holder', and ... I got a reply or two in a month time. Take the last paragraph as a rule! Good luck!   -- icnif77
