Police have charged a fifth person over their alleged involvement in a global crime syndicate accused of orchestrating the $1 million theft of baby formula across Sydney.

The 31-year-old man was arrested at Sydney Airport on Saturday after he arrived from China.

It comes after the arrest of a woman, 29, earlier this month and a 53-year-old man last December.

The arrests were part of Strike Force Dungv, set up by NSW Police to investigate the theft and distribution of baby formula and vitamins.

Police will allege the two men and women were part of an organised syndicate receiving more than $1 million worth of stolen products, including baby formula and health supplements, which were then on-sold overseas.

Last February, detectives were tipped off by retailers about the coordinated theft of the items across Sydney.

In August, police arrested a woman, 48, and a 35-year-old man after officers seized 4000 tins of baby formula, large quantities of vitamins and Manuka honey from two homes in Carlingford, north-west Sydney.

They remain before the courts.

Police said the five accused were part of a “well-coordinated” crime syndicate.

“This has been a meticulous investigation, with detectives now putting five people before the courts and disrupting a well-coordinated theft syndicate,” Detective Superintendent Daniel Doherty said.

“Police will continue to pursue those who seek to make a quick buck at the disadvantage of others and will always strive to stamp out unscrupulous activity.”

A:Wow, you really found that nitpicky talking point that elevates the fossil fuel industry to the same level as the interests of humanity. Isn't it all just a "liberal" scam, if you don't look too closely at the absence of logic? "Yes, it must be. My masters are hinting that that's what I should believe!"

You've made it clear you are consciously ignoring the pollution and global warming. Since your handlers, the conservative establishment whose dismantling of the carbon credit system and environmental destruction you choose to ignore, have made it clear you should bark in this direction, you are eager to please!

Such an admirably domesticated, dependable, subservient human. I'm sure your handlers will throw you a bone while they bring home the bacon for themselves. You're so obedient, you deserve a doggie cookie! Who's a good boy? You are! Yes, you are. U-S-A! Woof woof woof! -- coineineagh
