Q: Trump, China, and the rest of the world

Yes, I know this probably sounds preposterous, but there is a 'rest of the world'.. and even more shocking, 'the rest of the world' is not one huge homogenous entity.

Trump has already said he's not interested in the NAFTA and TPP because it disadvantages US companies (which is rather ironic, as the Canucks have already found out when it came to their environment!!!  http://canadians.org/nafta  http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2015/01/14/canada-sued-investor-state-dispu...)

The TPP was looking to suck for so many countries (especially since it had to be negotiated behind closed doors... WTF???) while on the outside making it look much better for trade.

So... what's going to happen if Trump does what he says he's going to (ie, 30% tariffs on imports)? Will China start dumping its cheap stuff on other countries even cheaper? Can other countries make some much more advantageous deals? Or will they be forced to increase prices, and thus it will suck?

Will the One Belt, One Road be enough to keep up China's economic power?

Will China push even further into the SCS to push back against US trade changes???

EDIT: Holy crap... 3 answers and only ONE refers to a place that's not China.... Did no-one bother to read the actual question??? What about the rest of the world???

China has enough cash stashed away to whether a trade tariff storm .
China has a domestic market that is hungry for infastuctor so can feed themselves .
Africa is now were China is focusing on and doing well so there is still trade to be had and to a large extent the USA has been slack chasing opportunity on Africa.
Well IMO anyway

Trump will win

China has more investment money, or do they? really?  Me, I question every number that ever comes out of Beijing.

Look at the landscape of China ...  outside Beijing (cough, cough) Shanghai there is nothing. Guangzhou has driven the Chinese for years, Shenzhen is helping today.

China money is Guangdong, and that is diminishing.

not a well thought out or deeply investigated blurb, But, I do believe that the Trump will have a way to improve things in North America and cause some severe disruption to China and its growth.

and I like 5 nations

the industrial shit in the north east is history.... many reasons, and many explanations... no good prospects and zero future for them. so much for all the local million and billionaires. Can only hope that they survive as well as the Kennedy's, Rockefeller's and Hearst's did.

China does not have the money they have invested, nor do they have a way of getting it.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
