Q: When do you think will be the good time period for folllowing up an inquiry?

While I was working for the western company, my western boss adviced that the safe period for contacting the customer again will be after 4 days after the last contact.

 

But I noticed many customers would choose their suppliers fast after 1-2 days after they inquired the prices, if I do not follow up, the order will be placed at somewhere else. For instance ,if the customer saw a lower price than I offered, but didn't ask me if I can lower the price and choosed someone else.

 

Unless the customer company needs to go through a lot of procedures to get the purchasing decision finalized, then should contact them after 4 days.

 

If I discuss with them about technique or payment stuffs, I think usually better give at least 4 days for them to form the decision.

The answers above are correct. You aren't suitable as a salesperson. Wrong temperament and no clue about what to do. You are such a know-all that you would be completely untrainable. And as mentioned, as a manager, cluess and wrong temperament.

Perhaps you can pass the government exam. It might be right up your alley to be a mean, clueless, officious, corrupt officer ranting at all and sundry in your village office. They might even appoint you as manager of lunch orders or foreign relations for the village.

Like some of the members said, the sales should listen to what the manager said, that is the right attitude. I do not see I have to be nice to some employees who is lazy and lying about doing my tasks.They should just get fired for not doing the job.

 

Plus that is not really a question, just a business concept exchanging topic.

 

I will quote someone used to say: You can't make everyone your audience.

 

I am not seeking your confirmation for being a qualified manager or not. It does not make me unqualified because some of you people say I am not. lol Your rude comment doesn't affect my achieved success on the job I am working for and on the business I am running.

For someone who is supposed to be a manager you sure ask a lot of basic questions here. I could almost think you are just just trying to learn from us and then when you stuff up the business in your own mind you can blame us for it. Tell me, why does someone with the experience you say you have have to keep asking these dumb questions?

Look, I have been to many companies, I know every company holds their concept on business. What is wrong with exchanging business concepts?

many buyrs dont like pushy sales..

if supplier is confidnt of product/price/terms, leave it aftr offr.. client wl do his groundwork n return whn he/she requires it.

Pushy is always bad. But there's some circumstance.

You have to realize the line of being pushy or not.

 

If you send an PI to a customer by email, then wait for several days for them to proceed. Some customers could not make payment for a long time, then after a week you could ask to find it out if the project is cancelled or they need longer time to proceed as some big companies has complicated prosecures.

 

If the customer send sveral inquires on alibaba looking for price, you gotta contact the customer again in a day or two because online business tends to move fast. The buyer could choose a supplier really fast. I could offer a high price which I can obvious give some discount, maybe the buyer  got an offer lower than mine. If I do not ask in 2 days, the buyer could possibly choosed another supplier. If I buy any chance knowing the expected price from the buyer, I can give some discount to make the deal. Speaking of practical online trading experience.

 

Many buyers wouldn't tell you the reason for them to not reply you. You could ask the buyer: May I have any comment on the price I just offered yesterday? Sometimes a short time follow up can save the deal.

 

When comes to business, I tend to be more adaptable to diffrent cirmustance.


  I got 13 orders and 2 companies agreed to make customized samples for the upcoming production after working in the model industry for almost a year and while the company I am working for only invested 29800rmb on alibaba to get customers.

Like one supplier who is fucking annoying, she could just call me a lot. After I showed her cold attitude that I do not want to purchase at the present. she doesn't seem get it. keep calling me and get me pressured so I just do not pick her calls up. It also shows that her business isn't very well since she is being so pushy.

 

I am dealing sales and purchasing all by my own for my own business.

well, probably yr online mktg works diff way.. u r on right track when u say "You have to realize the line of being pushy or not." . wth yr own experience (of supplier) u can realise the annoyance causd whn someone keeps pesterin'. its great tht u r gettin' own business on track.. good luck!
