Q: when I returned to the US from China I left money remaining in my B of C account
I have been trying for 4 months to find out from the Bank of China how to transfer the money which is in my account out of the account and into my bank in the United States. I have so far been unsuccessful.

i think this is the same guy that ripped of the students because he took their money in exchange for tutoring them then he fled the country becoz he did not have a legit visa. and to top it all off he left his gf to take it in the face from the angry students.
you must be in china to transfer the money out.
asking the same question wont change reality.
Haven't you tried checking their website or talking to someone that works there? It shouldn't be too difficult if you can find their number call them and have them walk you through the steps. If you have an online account go on their and you should be able to transfer it by using the online banking system.
I donnot know.
But there are branceed of B of C in States, Maybe you could go there to ask how you could do.
All transfer must happen from with in the country and as a foreigner, you must present your passport and valid visa to transfer funds, ohhh, by the way just in case you do make it, the IRS keeps track of all incoming transfers via western union and bank transfers, so if you are who crimo says you are, be prepared
