Q: Where in China are you?

Some love the big cities like Shanghai and Beijing, others leave the large cities for third and fourth tier towns. So where are you living now?

im in Wuhan. Pretty happy here, you can find most of the foreign food places, a subway has been built, got a steady job here.

The weather is the one thing that sucks!

E. Central Nongzhou aka Henan.   ( I must be doing penance for a past life transgression)

gunnerdj:

How do you cope there? Been to Henan a few times, swore I would never go back after the last time.

Yes, you are right - no quality of life here in a Tier 88. I am only here for the money.  Too much noise and all the other usual reasons.

Quanzhou, Fujian....into my 2nd year.
Before that Guilin...1 year and Dongguan 1 year (Shudder....)

Love Quanzhou, a small big city. Good weather, good transport links, people ok, low cost of living and can escape to Xiamen if I need a change of scenery.

Very happy here!

Guangzhou. Around 10 years.Seems a long time to be a manufacturing babysitter and BS detector. Another BCD. The trouble with China is apathy, but I don't care. Next year ABC.

Foshan, 6 years. I have seen this city go from a polluted, dirty industrial hub to one of the cleanest in China. It's a relief compared to the cesspool that's Guangzhou next door.

Before that, I stayed for two years in Beijing and two others in Qingdao.
