I am a little sensitive to light and would prefer plain white light. But every upmarket apartment here seems to have some kind of colored glass in the windows. Are there any good reasons for that?
filter out hot sun or ultra violet rays or make it harder to see in the apartment from outside
,, must learn to think and reason for yourself grass hopper, breath in , hold your breathe, when you know the answer you can breathe out, this will help you to learn to think fast.
Maybe an excuse to charge you more .........
Or save heating and cooling costs ...........
Or avoiding the sun from bleaching out the colors of fabric inside the apartment .......
Besides the ones explained above.
Or to give you a reason to ask your first question.
Because of the bleeding of paints and furniture from the sun, Chinese love to have apartments built to where the sun will rise and fall on the main rooms of a home or apartment, therefore they use this class to dull the light but keep the temperature higher in the winter
I think to their protect furniture from sun light and ultra violet rays.
Windows are often colored blue or green. Why? They cut quite lot of IR radiation.
In simple words - less hot, then without it.
Even clear and transparent window cuts most of UV radiation.
To allow UV radiation go thru - You may need special and quite expensive quartz glass
Want to test it? Try to have a tan thru even clear and transparent window... You'll get a sunburn becouse of heat but ... no tan. Try it.
edit: Example - photographic UV filters are transparent, not colored.
