I have wasted my time watching the three debates. All see is a President who has not managed to keep the promises made and that got him elected, and instead of telling me what the next four years will be like, he is always telling me why I will not vote for his opponent. And I am in disagreement about th way he is handling the economy......
And his opponent, always talks in generalities, and not explain in detail specific plans to solve the situations existing now, that has hkept the economy stagnant.
And top this with two other concerns;
1.- Absentee voting. The ballot is mailed to me in China, and I have 30 days to vote and send it back. yet, it will take at least two months to reach me, ince the address will be in English.
2.- None of the candidates have addressed two points that will affect the economy in a very deep way at the beginning of January of 2013, and they are:
a.- The end of the tax cuts enacted by Bush.
b.- The deep cuts approved by Congress to existing spending levels.
These two could place the economy back into recession if not addressed correctly, yet no one talsk about then, or how to solve the problems that they will create.
Boy, in a way, I am glad I am in China .........

I understand what you are saying. But isn't it the same every election year? Lots of posturing and little substance?
I can't say which would be better in office, I will just be happy when it is done. Don't worry too much about your absentee vote. It won't count for anything even if you did get it and send it back on time. The electoral college ensures absentee votes don't count. Heck, 2/3 of the states votes don't really count.
I just hope that no matter what, that the house and the senate will have majorities of the same party. That way, good or bad, things will at least get done for a change.
