Is the last word so important?

over the last Day or so I have found myself imbroiled in a war of words with a less than life expirenced person.
I started the day on a peace keeping mission and ended up in full battle mode.
It is so easy to get fired up and give sombody both barrels.however apart from being entertaining in that roman kind of way.
is it so important to have the final plung of the knife into their chest?
I even made a post with a quote in it for the benifit of such a person to no advail
so I will say sorry to those who I have offended
but as a last quote in the matter you have to go to the post I wrote yesterday

I think for some, yes, they must have the last word. With those people, you can't win, you just have to let it go. Maybe it feels better if you say you're ending it, but they won't care. As for me, for certain things I feel like I want to have the last word, but it's usually in an argument with that kind of person, so obviously that doesn't happen. It's a petty thing, really. We get satisfaction out of "winning" an argument when we think the other person is wrong. Trying to get the last word can just make you look stupid if it goes on too long.

I think the last supper might have been more important than the last word. It's up to you to decide. Actions speak louder than words so I'm going with the last supper being more important than the actual word itself. I'm a visual learner and the word may not stick in my mind for long. So I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the last supper at least for me. Your views may differ from mine but keep in mind I'm visual and you may like to learn by listening.

No, at least to me it is not !. When I do get involved in an argument, I try hard to explain my thinking or reasons. If I see that in doing so I am just banging my head against a wall, and getting no results, I jsu end the exchange, ignofring any future remarks.
Since it does take two to tango, by removing myself from it the exchange dies, or it is picked up by someone else. I did find out long ago that it is better to be alive and without ulcers than dead right.
Otgherwise, why worry?. Do not let petty arguments escalate into life threatening confrontations, life is too short to have those...........
