Sacrificing everything for your dream, or living easy an easy comfortable life?
by Cowchow » Mar 12, 2012 09:04 am in General    Replies 4 Views 2011

If you had to choose, which option would you think would lead to a generally better world?

1. If people sacrificed everything in order to reach their dream

2. If people went for the comfortable job, good pay, family and kids, etc.

Which would result in a better world?

I think number 2 is often a person's dream, but many are not extreme enough to qualify for number 1.

Well the first one is what creates some of the great leaps for both society and individuals, that fighting for a dream. But it's not meant to be for everyone. The world's not fail and sadly most people will fail if they sacrificed everything for a dream.
On the other hand, staying the middle road with a comfortable job, no advancements would be made and society would just become stationary. Slowly rolling backwards as the comfortable to get resources are taken up, and instead of trying for better, people just settle for less and less.
So choicing either one for the entire world would be a horrible idea, it takes the balance.

It depends whose dream I guess. I mean Hitler's dream was to take over Germany and kill all the Jews, and we all know how that turned out. I say, pick one only if your dreams are insignificant and harmless.

I have to agree with this one.

And Cowchow... your avatar is going to give me bad dreams.
