Curious about the labor law that requires 2 year's prior experience outside of China. I have a very lucrative internship which could turn into work, depending on the law. I was wondering about that 2 year experience thing.
One of the places I will be interning at said that they are interested in getting me to intern, and asked about my previous experience. Since I didn't have the 2 years experience prior to coming to China, they said they probably wouldn't be able to bring me on after the conclusion of that internship. I have seen lots of job adverts that skirted that detail and was wondering why that is. If it's something super enforced then I guess I'll have no idea but to go back after I finish up all my business here.
Thanks for the responses. The position definitely wouldn't be in ESL ( no disrespect, Im not rich by any means) just that my interest lies elsewhere and I no longer have the patience of a saint.

Best of luck. You get the chance to get outta ESL go for it.
If they actually want to bring you on they'll just fabricate a resume saying you have the 2 yrs experience when it comes time to get a legit res permit. Either the company has the clout to get Z-Visas or they don't. Your fabricated resume isn't going to be the hold up.
What further proof could they request? There's no official register of work experience.
I really don't know but I remember MikeCA saying that for non-teaching jobs theres way less scrutiny as long is it's somebody from a developed country. E
SAFEA requires 2-y working experience to grant Working permit, however I don't think that applies to internship. 2-y working experience might be an Internship's requirement.
I met few Scottish students in Xinjiang, working as English teachers with very low working hours. They were sent to China by Scottish Uni as internship, and they didn't make much money.
They had students visas, if I remember correct. 18y olds couldn't have much of any working experience from Scotland, but I didn't ask.
Just go for it, and you'll see do they all require 2-y working experience for internship. I don't think so, but I might be wrong.

if your over 24, most schools will lie about your 2 years experience and put it on your resume without your knowledge to get you a visa, but the psb will notice if your 23 years old and graduate at 22, how can you have 2 years experience, however i did work at a training school that hired 22 year olds all day long with z visas from hong kong, but that was 4 years ago.

I also got a Z visa without the necessary 2 years of working experience back in 2011. But then again I had spent some time since my graduation...
Schools will forge degrees and cvs to make it look like you have the experience though unis tend to follow the law. It's a case by case basis.
Companies can get around pretty much any law here. If they said that to you, then they probably are looking for an excuse to deny hiring you.
