I don't have full details...but some have already been put into effect. I have read news concerning deduct total 12 points using past-due temporary licence plate. The traffic is getting better in my part of city. Hope things will keep looking up like this. I walk to work by the way.

Under the new traffic laws, ignoring traffic lights will result in six penalty points, double the previous punishment. The penalty for improper display of license plates is now 12 points.

According to the new rules, 52 different kinds of violations can result in penalties, up from 38 under the previous regulations. Online, the new rules were dubbed “the strictest traffic regulations ever.”

Each violation is associated with penalty points, based on how severe the offense is. If a driver receives 12 penalty points in a year, they are required to attend a seven-day training session and have to take a written exam before they can get back behind the wheel.

But I have heard rumors that the new traffic law has been repealed or temporally suspended, too many uproars in Internet about it.

Thakkudu:

Heard one rule froma collegue here: The frame for the number plate should be clean.. means no ads of any form on that ... ...

This would mean 99% should be replaced as all of them have either a car symbol or some other advertisement!!

Surely it must be that the license plate must be readable. There must be a web site that states fact rather than rumors from the hairdresser
