Q: Is 250rmb per hour an accetable :"rate"?

just wondering...the guy seems rather happy that I 'only"  charge him 250rmb for my english services...

It depends on 'your guy'. Mostly, I adjust my hourly rate to the city I am in, and frequency and length of the private classes. 

 

I taught privately 5 students since I am in China. 4 are studying abroad, and the last one enrolled in private Canadian High School in Liaoning few months ago. The highest rate was 200 Rmb per hour, for 3 hours per week in 5 months for the last student in Dalian.

 

Your guy might be very 'happy guy'!

well it depends on your city. many guys are willing to pay upto 1000 for a pro. and that is a chinese pro, so  a foreign pro they might be willing to pay more.
