Q: 3 day trips from Beijing?

I'm trying to find ideas for weekend trips that can be done from Beijing, even if it involves taking a flight or long distance train.

 

Can you recommend any doable 3 day trip apart from the usual day trips to Tianjin or Chengde?

A good day trip would be to go to the great wall. Although that is still in Beijing it's quite far from the city I believe. You could go there one day and stay at the hotel near the hot spring the other day. After all that you can take your trip back to wherever you live in the city and conclude your 3 day trip!

g train to jinan would be 190 rmb , hour and half, seven day hotel 177 rmb. see springs and mount tai and then chufu.
