If a foreigner were to marry a Chinese girl for the sole purpose of getting a Green Card in USA for himself, he will be wasting his time unless he is in love with her, because marrying a Chinese girl is not a USA  REQUIREMENT FOR A RESIDENCE VISA (or Green Card).

Now, if your question was phrased wrongly, and you meant to get the Chinese girl a Green Card, if he was a citizen in good standing, and met the requirements, he could apply for one, and if both then supply the correct information to prove a bonafide marriage and that he has the means to support her, yes, he could if he wanted.

Happy is right.  You would qualify for an extended spouse visa if your wife is Chinese, but not a green card.  The rules are the same for a green card regardless if you are married to a Chinese person or not (but in some situations it can make it easier.)

"Green card" is a uniquely American term I wish people would smarten up and stop using it to refer to all nations.

In any case, the "Green Card" hasn't been green for at least 5 years if not more.  Immigration in the States, or whatever they call it now, changed the color to pink the last time that I heard.

It is like an arguement with a western girlfriend when you ask her why she is angry at you. Often she will answer someting like "if you dont know, I certainly am not going to tell you!' My advice, call it "chinese green card". We will all know what you are talking about and it will cheese out some! devil
