Q: about marriage certificate
My guy and I are planning to get married. He wants to take me to his country, I want him to stay in China with me for a couple of years first. But I'm open to all kinds of possibilities so on the long run I might have to leave China.
We checked the procedures of getting marriage certificate in both countries. Not quite sure if there will be much difference on the long run if we get it in China or outside of China? Any ideas?
I think it depends on your living plan, but if you are a Chinese, I suggest you marry in China, because it will be more convenient for all thing about your marriage and protect you.
Just for your information.
We got ours in China for different reasons, one being.
Going to China with a marriage certificate from my home country and using that to prove marriage means many trips to the notary office, for some things the notary certificate expires after 6 months, marriage is one of them.
Having the Chinese certificate translated and notarized, means a one trip to the appropriate office in my country, and then the marriage is in the public record and my wife can enjoy the benefits of being married to a Scandinavian.
