Q: Adopting My Girlfriends Son

I am a 45 year old man, who has been dating this wonderful girl for 5 years and are set to marry this year. She is divorced and has a ten year old son who I have helped raise since he was 5. His father has never been part of his life, and the only time the father even showed up was to ask me for some money.
Anyway, in some Westers Countries it is possible to adopt the child of one's spouse even if the other parent is alive (details change from country to country). I was wondering if that would be possible here in China? Thank you for your help!

You could, if you so desire, adopt your step son here in China, but I would advise not vto do it until after the wedding.  You will need the biological father yto agree to the adoption, and From what you posted, I am afraid that his consent will cost you money.
You will have to do it (and may need a lawyer) thru the local Courts (Family Court I believe is the name) and also thru your Embassy here in China.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
