Q: air china? how much luggage?
i'm flying from shenyang to london and when i called air china they said the maximum weight for check-in luggage is 23kg. When my Chinese gf called they told her 50kg. anyone know the maximum check-in weight?

domestic flights inside China, all Chinese Airlines, one suitcase, 23 kilos, and one carry on. You will see many with yes, one suitcase, but 25 carry-ons at least.
International flights, if domestic and international are on same PNR (flight ticket), you are allowed two suitcases at less than 50 lbs each on both, domestic leg and international leg. If not on same air ticket both flights, then each rule apllies to each segment separately.
Isn't 23 kilogrammes about the equivalent of "fifty jin" in the Chinese system? They may have told the young lady who is Chinese the answer in "jin", as often do here, at the market for example, and they may have told the Brit 23 kilos. Just a supposition, however.
