Q: Allergy or something else?

I thought I was having an allergic reaction to some fruit I ate the other day.  But now the skin around my face is so itchy and I have red rings around my eyes.  Is this something else entirely???

you better go for a skin doctor near in any hospital. skin disease are a bit complex to deal , treat and diagnose. did you get the before ? do you feel changes in your breathing pattern, do you feel itching near the larynx or just behind and upper part of your tongue. lethargy or cold like symptoms. have you got this while drinking beers or any quality alcohol, are there any trees, flowers, dusty environment around you. do you walk alot in the Sun. well if YES is the answer, so its allergy or sign of weaker immune system. better try cetirizine hydrochloride tablet. just take 1 pill at night, you will fall asleep nicely as it induce sleep. if you see any reduction in it so the medicine worked. if not go to hospital and check up with a doctor.

Go straight to hospital and see a doctor, allergic reactions can be very serious. I'm allergic to chocolate ice-cream; just one mouthful and all my hair falls out. Just like that. Go get yourself checked.

I've been drinking milk tea for several months since I got here in China because my girlfriend loves it so much..   I've been eating watermelon since I was a little kid...     I went to a milk tea shop and had watermelon milk tea..  Tasted fine, but within 6 hours I was having a very serious allergy like reaction that I had never seen before in my life..  From my face down to my waist.. My girlfriend was soooo worried about me and kept asking why I didn't know I was allergic to watermelon.  It was all I ate that day and my girlfriend had some and didn't have the same rash..    It was gone within a few days and a week later I had a small slice of watermelon at a party, didn't get any allergic reaction.. Also I had a *LOT* of watermelon, almost half a watermelon a few weeks ago an didn't get an allergic reaction...

To this day, I still have no idea what they put in my watermelon milk tea that made me react like that, but i haven't been back to that milk tea shop since...

Aside from my girlfriend forcing me to drink half a dozen cups of traditional Chinese medicine everyday for a few days afterwards, no harm done I guess...

xerxes:

do not eat fishes, yogurt and milk  together and also milk with water melon together. they will give you allergic reactions. you can not mix all the foods to eat them in one scoop. try to read more about allergies and related food on wikipedia. a kids died of allergic reaction by eating watermelon after several minutes he drink milk. its created some hard pain in his stomach.

As for you...

I'm gonna go with "allergic reaction", but not to the watermelon. Possibly some food additive in the milk, or if they used artificial watermelon flavouring. OR, and this is a big one, a red food dye. Many red food dyes are currently illegal in the US and Canada because they cause allergic reactions like the one you described (and hyperactivity in children).

Just don't go back to that tea shop and you should be ok. Keep an eye out, though, when you drink milk-anything, eat red candies or artificially dyed foods.

Allergy, i do believe.

I get the same thing when I eat mangoes. I also suffer the same reaction to latex, which is a related allergy. Fruits in the latex family include mangoes, bananas, avocados, and guavas, among others. You might want to look into it. Latex allergies suck the big one. I don't have sensitivities to those other fruits yet, but I always need to be on the lookout.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
