Q: Animals on the streets in China?
In your cities do you often see people performing with monkeys on chains? It's happened a few times to me, in Shanghai after coming out of a club there was a guy walking around asking if you wanted pictures with the monkey for a fee. In another tourist place in Shanghai, there was a guy with a monkey in a dress performing tricks. In Hengshui, there's a guy at the train station doing the same, and also in Shijiazhuang.
Is this normal in your city? I thought keeping a monkey as a 'pet' was illegal in China?

They are really English teachers that have taken the "white monkey" thing too far, and do this for extra money.
I've never ever seen one of these performances that you've described in the Emerald Capital City of China, Ever! I do plan to go to Shanghai so I'll find out what you're talking about soon enough! I was unaware that this was even happening so I'm as surprised as you are! (

I saw a guy in a park that had monkeys on his boat. He whistled and peacocks came and got on their perches and he tied them. I was amazed that peacocks come. I asked him about it. Carolans tonight, better than Baileys.
