It's that time of year again, when the spirit of giving is no better shown than by having one's bonus held hostage to extortion attempts...
For instance, threatening to cut of resident's power if they haven't paid their bill within 2 hours of receiving it...
Or not being able to come up with enough fapiaos to cover the boss' expenses so that all their income can be written off as a loss, and they can buy that new BMW (and, if you can't get those thousands of RMB's worth of fapiaos, you don't get your bonus!)
Does your company do this?
Do you know any that do?
And, what would you do if you were given this option?
(for me, I'm one of those real pain in the arse types, who's willing to take the sacrifice, and go to the tax department, or email those who might be more interested in knowing what their underlings are up to )

The 13 month year makes sense to me. One month, double pay. Bonus should be in addition to the 13th month.
I don't really know what you are talking about. Scots: You do understand that the year is scientifically set. Making 12 months 13 does not actually add time. Pay would subsequently be pro-rated and monthly pay would then be reduced accordingly. Mandating a set amount as a bonus for everyone would sort of not make it a bonus (do you understand what that word means?). It would just be withheld pay.
You are a prime example of why withheld taxes (I can't think of the proper term now) works perfectly. Let me explain it for those who don't know. The US govt takes money out of working stiffs salaries/ wages throughout the year. It is set up to take out more than necessary. The beginning of next year people receive what they overpaid, but simple minded morons that Americans are, feel as though they are getting something and don't understand that they actually paid a lot in taxes.
Simple minded people cross their eyes, not understanding that they didn't change what's there just their perception of it.
Shining, yeah the employers in this country are shitty but that is way way way down on the list. A bonus is not owed unless it's contractually promised. If I'm not owed it, I don't care. I don't care how someone runs their business. The whole fapiao nonsense is a publicly known loophole, I don't care what they do to their employees to ensure they take advantage of it. It becomes part of their job.
