Do a market survey first. The following URL is a studio in Hangzhou, a city in Zhejiang Province, not very far from Wenling. If time permits, you may drive to have a visit:

Maybe there'll be some cooperation opportunities between you two. Good luck.

a tattoo studio  - so do you have any experience tattooing using a tattoo gun?   Are you naturally artistic?  May sound like a cool job but also the reality it can be boring and tiring sitting there patiently  doing a design for few hrs at a time.  In U.K you have to find a special premises i think suitable tiles and flooring so can be hygienic would you need that here and licenses you need?  Theres a big list there to opening a shop not just a pipe dream and when you do open the shop who your customers going to be if its a small city Chinese people arnt particular fond of tattoos younger people in modern cites maybe but traditionally maybe not so much so will you be able to make a living.  Not to put a downer on it as i good to have a goal in doing some business on your own but research very carefully.

If you are a native English speaker you might find a market in Beijing or Shanghai with expats, students, tourists..many people would rather get permanently inked by someone who speaks their native language than their second (I definitely would!)

GuilinRaf:

Many, but not all.

The artist who inked me could only say "Welcome to my store" in English. After that, it was his wife who did all the talking.

As for me, I had been shopping around for about three  years before I finally settled on this guy, not because he spoke or did not speak English, but because I really liked  his work.

Any advice on opening a tattoo studio? Yeh, make sure you can draw, the one I opened was a disaster. But then, to quote the late, great Peter Cook, "I have learnt from my mistakes and I believe, if I had to, I could repeat them again perfectly."
