So what is there to do or see for this holiday in your area ?
Lets have some ideas to enjoy the day in China.

I was in DT this pm, which is full of farmers from near-by ...can't say 'mountains' 'cause city is on the mountain. Obvious, we don't do much boats and things here, but similar....
First, I bought wooden spoon (think, 'paddle-the-boat-in-the-kitchen'), which will replace other small ceramic Chinese spoons I have. Here my cutlery is all wooden, except one stainless fork und big knife.
Spoon's cup is some 3 cm in diameter with 35cm handle. Spoon is made out of one piece of wood. 10 rambos. Tomorrow, I am making potato/leek soup, so I'll be able to test new spoon. I never eat soups in China....
Then, I saw somebody's selling honey from the woods. It's not really liquid honey, but soft part of the beehive (where (bee) workers unload the honey). He gave me big slab (some 300 g) of beehive for 200 Rmb. He wanted 260 originally, but I gave him only 20 (stupid laowai) rambos. Then, we even for 200.
Price seemed steep, so I tested another honey/beehive guy. He had older, wild bees-hive with parts of the moss still on it. Hard like candy and taste like from ....some 300 g for 100 Rmb.
He found it in the woods, laying somewhere forgotten.
I'll ask my dentist assistant for an opinion on quality/pricing of honey and bee's house, but taste is amazing.
Tomorrow, I'll return to the DT with big glass dish and buy honey of that guy.
I should stay away of sweets, because 'I am sweet enough...', but this thing is tasty. Not the same, you're all buying as honey in Supers around China.
philbravery:
isn't spring festival when you are supposed to change your cutlery?
icnif77:
I returned home with wooden spoon in my hand , replying to all passers-by: 'Ni shi laowai ....'.
philbravery:
yeah.... i wouldn't say that to the guys in the white coats

I point my finger toward addressee ....with my free hand ,'cause my Chinese pronunciation sucks.
