Q: Any good hostels in Macau?

I'm planning a trip to Macau this weekend and it's hard to find hostel information online. I heard one hostel closed down recently. I don't want to spend so much on the hotels. Does anyone have experience with the hostels in Macau and can you give me some information such as prices or contact numbers?

Do you need to actually stay in Macau. You could stay for 150 (or so) in a 7 Days Inn in Zhuhai and then just run through the border. Takes a bit of time, sweat and suffering, but hey.

It's a lot less sweat & suffering if you take the ferry from Wanzai or go across the bridge at Heng Qin. But those two orders aren't open as long as Gongbei

hi2u:

I'd prefer to stay in Macau because I'm planning the trip with a couple Chinese friends and they only have one entry left on their visas to Macau/HK, so we will be going into Macau from Zhuhai, crossing from HK is not an option.

Scandinavian:

Just for the record, Wanzai and Heng Qin are borders with Zhuhai, there are those two and Gongbei. Wanzai is cool if you are going to the peninsula, Heng Qin if you are going to Taipa Island.... and Gongbei if you like spending two hours in line.

(I think bus K10 goes past all 3 border points)

They closed one hostel down? Sounds like it's becoming a real "hostile" environment.

I found a place called Sanva Hospedaria. It has some bad reviews, but it's by far the cheapest option, so I might give that a try.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
