Q: Any government-authorized agencies for recruiting non-Chinese ayis?

Willing to put the money...

any agencies out there authorized by the government to provide housekeeping services to expats with non-Chinese ayis?

Actually according to Chinese regulations : foreign employees, foreign passport holders cannot work in a local family's home or for an individual.

Nonetheless, some companies provide this kind of foreign ayi (mostly from Filippines), but they know that they are playing with the fire.

If you're an expat, you can try to include in your package to get a foreign ayi by your company. Then, they can manage to get her a visa.

Or you can find one through connections.

Because it's against Chinese regulations, therefore there isn't any agency who can really claim to be able to get you a Filipino ayi.

I would say no! The government would have nothing to do with helping you hire ayi's. Although it is strongly supported by the locals and the country to hire Chinese Ayi's as opposed to the Phillipino ayi's just because it is China and they know their way around better and can contact people in an emergency.

Could you imagine if the kid you are taking care of has a real medical emergency and the ayi that you hired can't speak to anybody for help. That would be a disaster.

Unless it was just housekeeping like cleaning, but even then if there was a real emergency they wouldn't be able to get help if they couldn't speak the local language.
