Q: Any ideas where to take visitors who've been to Beijing before?
I have visitors coming from out of town and they've been to Beijing several times and done all the major sites and attractions. I've previously taken them through the hutongs of Houhai area/Gulou, to 798, Sanlitun and even a couple of swanky new malls. I really don't know know where to take them without doing the same as the last time.

Yeah. Shanghai. (Okay, not helpful... but couldn't resist.) 
BJ,, if u got time to the desert north of the city... and this weird place called the 'Wall'. lol touristy,,, but damn sure worth it

Take them to see silva exhibit, they'll never forget it.
You could take them to some of the more distant places like the Ming tombs, older parts of the Great Wall, or even fruit orchards if you are up for taking a trip out of the actual city.
If they've seen all the sites, why not encourage them to take part in some activities instead? Renting a bike and just cycling aimlessly through hutongs is always a big hit, or how about signing them up to a Chinese cooking class? Another way to impress them is to expand their culinary experiences. Take them to restaurants they've never been to. Encourage them to try cuisines from all over China. Take them to some cool bars and introduce them to the music scene here, or go to a documentary screening at Moma or Ullens. There are also so many beautiful areas a little further from Beijing. They have been to the great wall, but did they ever see the Longqing Gorge in Yanqing County? Or what about the ancient town of Cuandixia? With its narrow alleyways, ornate doorways and wide choice of farm-style guesthouses and restaurants, Cuandixia makes for an impressive and memorable trip for any out-of-towner. The only complicated part is arranging a mode of transport to get there but if you ask a Chinese friend or ask around, you'll surely figure out a way. Finally, I think a lot of people over-look the museums. Sure, they're oozing with patriotism but that's exactly what's interesting: seeing how China decides to portray its history. This list could go on and on...
This time of year? Xiangshan Park...the maple leaves should be turning within the next few weeks, and this is the most beautiful time to visit.
