Q: Any ladies (happily) dating a Chinese guy?
There're so many discussions on here about the Foreign Guy/Chinese Girl relationship, and very few about the Foreign Girl/Chinese Guy relationship. Granted that's probably due to the fact that there are a lot fewer cases of the latter combination.
However, for the ladies who are happily dating Chinese guys, what are the biggest differences in your relationships compared to dating non-Chinese? E.g. we all know the girls like i-pads by now, and supposedly make good wives etc.
I'm asking 'cause i've recently met a guy whom i really like, we've been on a few dates and so far i'm really happy 
. The idea is to learn from others in similar relationships 'cause i'd really like to keep this going

I wish I was dating one, but sadly, I'm not. I think that even if he speaks English very well, learning Chinese will be important, especially his local dialect so you can speak to his family. I'm still at the learning some Mandarin step. I plan to learn more seriously this spring, because I will be less busy. Good luck you you.

Oh shoot! That's a very good point you've raised. We communicate in English (he's fluent), unless we're with other Chinese friends in which case it's usually a mixture of English and Chinese. My Chinese is nowhere near as good as it would have to be to have proper conversations with his family though :/ ...hmmm lol, i didn't think this one through did i? Oh well, where there's a will there's a way :)
I AM!! been in an amazing 7 month relationship, due to my studies having to go long distance atm, but definately no regrets.
you really have to be open to accept their culture as well as show them yours, realise certain ways of doing things are neither right or wrong they are just different. speaking a good level of Mandarin helps, oh and 60% of chinese men enter relationships hoping for long-term commitment from day one, so watch out for that.
I am too!! I am happily married with a Chinese man. We met in the States. He lived there for ten years, he kinda became more Americanize so we share similar ideas. Since we have different backgrounds, we are willing to work things out and try to understand each other. You know, sometimes when you are dating someone from the same culture, you assume that he or she thinks the same way you do. But it's not true. In any relationship, we should be open for discussion and understanding.
I don't speak any Chinese, I'm in the process of learning, although, it's good not to speak mandarin since you don't have to speak with the mother-in-law. No communication=no arguments. :)
