Q: any nice bar (jiuba) in Tianjin ?

Hi guys
Last year I moved to Tianjin from Shanghai. This city is boring compare to Shanghai. If you guys know Can you recommend any nice bar or jiuba in Tianjin. last month I went to muse but feel like overpriced for single person.
One of the worst decision to move to Tianjin. shitty place.

Thank you all.

I spent 5 days there once.  The only nice thing I found there was the fast train out.

I suggest you get yourself on it.  Life's too short to waste it in that joint.

There is a couple of decent expat bars when I lived there.

There is a small quiet one called "Trueman's" not sure if it is still open.

There is another popular one down a back alley called "Alibaba" (like the company) or something like that... It has character but nothing amazing.

But the city itself kind of sucks I agree. It is like a very large village and the locals are not very polite. Actually, some of the worst spats my wife and I got into with other Chinese, was with Tianjin locals.

Plenty of better cities like Xi'an, Dalian, Chongqing, Chengdu... all second tier and much better than Tianjin.

I am currently living in Tianjin. It is true that the places sucks balls. It is called the biggest village in China for a reason. There are lots of Okish bars here. Like Robk mentioned "Truemans" is ok. The local expats are usually a friendly bunch and will give you lots of laughs. It is near Haiguansi subway station. You can find the address on www.tianjinexpats.com. I don't know if it is still open but here was a club called "Scarlet". It is on weijinlu. Opposite Tianjin university, I hink the bus stop opposite is 六里台. The 3rd floor there is the dance floor (too crowded to dance, too noisy to talk). The 2nd floor however is a quiter chill out area which can be quite good. There is also a place called "Sitong" it is alright but comes with the same problems as Scarlets 3rd floor. In the Auchung area there is a Texas BBQ bar that is ok if you want to watch sports and eat whilst drinking. AJ's sportsbar is similar except the food is not as good and it gets really smokey on the 2nd floor. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck on your quest for fun in this dull city.
