Q: Any nuclear plant leakage in China so far?

In China there are several nuclear plants operational and many more planned for construction (even in Sichuan, area prone to earthquakes...). Any known nuclear incident or leakage so far?

I'm not so sure we would be privy to the information sadly...

Luckily most reactors in China are of European or American design. Just a couple of Russian reactors. As far as I remember none of them are using graphite as coolant.

One thing the Chernobyl disaster taught the world is that you cannot keep it quiet if you have a severe incident.

I think it has other aspects than just Douglas' beard, but that is certainly a fascinating part of it

No, obviously not. If such things had happened, you would expect to see dead animals and fish floating in rivers, water mysteriously changing colour, one eyed cyclops kittens being born, melons that amazingly explode, 99Silva asking sensible questions and all kinds of other strange phenomenon. Nothing like this has happened so far so we can feel quite safe that no nuclear leakage has taken place.

It would be undetectable, due to the air pollution density. It acts as a containment shield.
