Q: Any papa johns restaurant in changsha?
we used to have papa johns around wuyi square but now no more there. does anyone know their location now? thanks in advance
Hello AttentionSeeker! I think if the papa Johns is not there anymore it could have been because they weren't a driving force like Pizza Hut is here. The latest Pizza company to arrive in China is Domino's. I can agree that the Papa Johns was one of the better one's in the states, but I can't agree to that one in China. There are so many different pizza companies in China that it could have possibly just went away.
It's probably time to try to look for another pizza company because it is the end of the Road for Papa Johns in China.
Agree with Mattaya. To many pizza companies are in China and even though papa johns is big in the states it wasn't the first one here (pizza hut I think) so they have the strangle hold on the market here.
we have two branches in Zhengzhou comparing to 8~9 pizza hut and so many other pizza place
I feel your pain OP. Papa Johns is so much better than Pizza Hut in China. I only went to Pizza Hut one time and absolutely struggled to find something I wanted on the menu. May also want to look for a foreign owned italian style or bar & grill style restaurant. Usually I can find a killer pizza at these kinds of places. Good luck!
Actually, Papa Johns in Changsha was pretty popular, until the Changsha Rapid Transit Authority decided to put a subway in the city, and construction among WuYi Lu killed a lot of business. The Papa Johns was located on the second floor of the corner building, and the subway construction dug up and obliderated the main street which bisected WuYi, erecting those giant blue barrier walls along the entire lenght of the corner streets, making it virturally impossible to access a whole block of businesses for going on two years now! McDonalds survived, but only because street traffic was routed right past their front door.
It's a mess getting through the city center in Changsha. That being said, they were the only location in Changsha, so when they closed (the sign is still up), the only alternative (and not a viable one at that), is Pizza Hut. Sorry AT, I know how you feel!
Thank you guys. I used to go there 2years ago. it had wifi and was always the quiet and confortable place that one can go with few Chinese. Now we only have pizza hut without wifi with so many chinese making a lot of noise! I used to go there when i am tired of reading in my room, will buy some pizza, surf internet and study. just to change an environment
