Yes, I recently spoke to an elderly Chinese lady who told me about her family history. She came from an extremely wealthy and influential family in Shanghai and had a massive villa on the outskirts of the city. Then when the cultural revolution happened, the entire family literally fled over night, burying all their jewelry, gold, and precious items in a plot of land near the house. Many decades later, when the family finally returned, the buried treasures were nowhere to be found. According to her, all the rich people buried their treasures before they were sent to the countryside or purged, so there must be so much undiscovered wealth buried around China which will probably never see the light of day because most likely there's a massive mall, housing estate or highway on those spots now.

yes, good point. A shame that some of it will never be found.

Yeah I just wrote a question about this about the Diver guy. Not sure if you pulled this question from my own sources but yeah there was. A lot of the lost or hidden treasures that people have discovered and banked millions on were the belongings of long ago emperors.

The Diver guy dove down to the bottom of the ocean and uncovered treasure estimated at millions of dollars. He kept all the money!

Yes every where in the ocean has treasure. You just have to look for it. There are two Mongol fleets off Japan that were sunk by kamikazi. Just go deep. I would help but I can not swim.

I never seen your question regarding the diver guy, but is interesting too. This question has been on my own mind for awhile now.

No, not really, but I am playing Tomb Raider at the moment (never played it before, it's kind of like Assassin's Creed but with breasts and a nice arse) and I seem to be on some island that is either Chinese or Japanese, it's not clear which (it must be one of the Daoyu Islands), and there is absolutely 'loads' of treasure on there. Don't know if that helps.

Please don't talk about Tomb Raider. I sold my Playstation 3 to go towards the cost of my flights...
