Q: Is anybody else sick of the guy that keeps making new accounts about the teachers union?

This guy seems to pop up on sites all over the place, including here, advertising the China Foreign Teachers Union.

In the past, he has used the accounts Zip, Slinky and Pegasus (all banned), among a lot more I can't remember.

Now he is using the name Alienated.

What and why is so bad about it? Maybe we should have a Teachers Union too. Forgive my ignorance, I just don't know much about it.

Nope. Couldn't care less. Most of the accounts on here barely make it into my peripherals.

I was unaware there were multiple accounts. Just assumed it was the same post over and over again.

Guess I haven't bothered to read them.

the accounting firms in shanghai have been approved for a union whidh is very bad news, so chinese accountants at the firm can have a union but directed by union government leaders so that they can cook the books at government orders or tell the auditor opinions and dirt on competitors of state run enterprises, the point being without a government ie corrupt official in bed with you , a union of any kind would not happen in china. china want let the pope pick a bishop in china , have foreigners form a union is way down the list of reforms to even dream of here.

I haven't really noticed any of these posts on the echinacities website myself really. Generally having a Teacher's Union in a country like China is probably a good idea although it is questionably legal and moral, with the country being supposedly 'communist'.

Not at all, Traveler. In fact, I'm all in favour of it.

I don't consider it a real 'union', except in the original meaning of the word - getting together for mutual benefit.

It's something we teachers desperately need here.

What is disappointing is that the accounts are being banned because... why?? Someone upsetting an apple cart? I've not yet noticed any offence, nor bullying, nor insult, nor 'abuse'... only a fairly detailed rant against a particular school in BJ... which is no worse than most other rants against any other schools.

I think I could make a post titled "Anyone else sick of seeing the same person complain about the stupid teachers union over and over?"  And I bet it wouldn't even be half as inane as these whiney little posts.

I don't 'do' unions. period. Therefore I don't read anything about unions, therefore I cannot say I've noticed anything about this union apart from what I'm reading here and I think a comment someone (perhaps this fluid) made on my previous post that said, "I have a problem with unions, period."

The reason "Traveler" is trying so hard to discredit the CFTU can be found at this link http://craighillchinadailymail.blogspot.ca which exposes him for who and what he really is - an ex prison guard from Australian who now earns a living recruiting teachers for the scammiest agent in China that was exposed by the CFTU and the old China Teachers Alliance, and China Scam Patrol.  He apparently tries to legitimize himself by "writing" a blog that he uses to support his own threads here at ecc.  And because it was proven he is also a mod here at ecc, I will take a screen print of this post so it does not get deleted like he has done to others in the past. If it happens again I will take this story to every blog in China that will listen. Traveler is traitor to every expat teaching in China from my point of view.

Not that this comes as much of a surprise to anyone at this point, but the above user's IP address matches previously flagged users associated with CFTU and China Scam Patrol.

A:Going to HK would be the best bet I reckon, especially if you were looking for a church wedding. Chinese weddings are pretty grim IMO - you go to a barren govt dept with souless officials and navigate red tape so some guy can give you a red stamp and a marriage book. You get expensive pictures taken of you both posing in places you'd never go to in everyday life that is somehow supposed to represent your wedding, then a while later it's off to a restaurant where a game show host kind of guy makes sure it's as tacky as possible while the guests eat as fast as they can so they can leave as soon as they finish eating and gave you money. Hell, I'd go to Thailand or the Philippines and get married in Paradise.   -- Stiggs
