Q: Anyone been able to get chinese service on their verizon iphone 4?
I would like to know if anyone has been able to go to a store and have their verizon iphone 4 service switched to a chinese mobile service. I'm located in shanghai and the china telecom on my campus just plainly said no, even though im pretty sure that there is some method out there. I would just like to get the input and know how of someone who has had experience.
I got the original verizon iphone 4 without the sim card slot.

Good luck. I have a VZ iPhone 4S, and I'm pretty sure it ain't gonna work. You need the sim card slot....
In simple words..It will not work..yaa you can find some guy who can Unlock it..after that you can insert any general SIM Card and use it..
You will not be able to unlock the iphone as you need to change the SIM card.
If you had a SIM card iphone, it needs to be unlocked. If your contract is over, you should be able to buy the unlock code as long as the phone is registered with Verizon. There are websites that will get you the unlock codes. This will not apply to you.
If you are near Hong Kong, go to the Apple store. HK is has one of the lowest prices on iPhones and it will be unlocked.
