Q: Anyone been in Chinese jail?
An acquaintance of mine just got nabbed for selling weed to a a pawn in a sting operation. From my understanding, he'll be there until he signs confession papers.
Is he going to get treated well? Anybody know anybody that has been in a Chinese detention center?
never been to Chinese jail but I've seen Chinese high schools and I doubt jail could be much worse
Im just repeating what i've read in credible sounding articles.
But supposedly it's gonna be really shitty, but not physically dangerous. Like you aren't going to get stabbed or raped or murdered while you're trying to mind your own business but it's going to otherwise be really unpleasant.
Think about what locals find acceptable in terms of dorm housing, public toilets, food etc and then think about how bad it would have to be if it's considered a punishment.
But on the other end if he can suck it up and maintain he's not going to wind up dead.
Through a secret contact I got a copy of a dinner menu from
Experimental Social Correctional Worker's Institute #9
Today's Menu
Starter: Rice
Soup: Rice
Entree: Rice
served with a choice of side-dishes: Rice or Rice
Dessert: Rice
Chubba (chinese bubba) is looking forward to sexy time with skinny white imbecile. How stupid can people be? Judging by cellmate Nanny and this moron, pretty stupid. Just another retard that forgot where he was and is getting his just deserts.

My wife's uncle did a year in Chinese prison, but he's Chinese.
Im figuring expat26's comment is pretty accurate. I would also like to add that other common characteristics of 3rd world jails include, but not limited to:
1) No AC or fans, couple with stagnant air from sun heated contrete buildings and pakced bodies ----> Hot as heck in summers where ther climate is hot.
2) No or very little heat ----> Cold as heck where autumn and winter climate is cold
3) marginal food -----> better have some money or "care packages" from family/friends on a regualr basis or you will prob starve.
4) very filthy, unsanitary conditions -----> getting sick alot.
combining some of these factors ------> severe illness leading toa probable permanent state of being crippled or even death.
if u cant do the time then dont commit the crime he gets eveything he deserves selling drugs in any country is bad so i hope he gets his just due
well, this dude is been there, done that... actually its detention, but that the closest explanation... sounds like they took care of him really well (health checkup - twice in a day)

I visited one with one of my "public servant" friend a couple of years ago, what would you like to know exactly?
There is no reason for your friend to receive a bad treatment, but each jail is different and each guardian is different.
They may however give him pressure to get him sign his confession, if they indeed caught him with a decent amount of weed, he better confess fast, their patience is limited.
