Q: Anyone else feel sick after drinking pearl milk tea?

I don't think my stomach agrees with those tapioca pearls in milk tea. Each time I drink a cup here, my stomach starts hurting and I feel nauseous. Yet for some reason I still keep drinking it. I think I'm addicted to the texture of those pearls.

there are some foods and drinks in China that are an acquired taste. For me, my brain tells me something is visually unappealing, but it tastes GREAT enlightened !! Likewise, there are some foods that LOOK delicious but ........ There is no logic to it at all !

you mean the ones that are sold in those small drink shops? They don't use anything natural there. It's mostly powders full of chemicals mixed with water. Everything in it is bad for health. The only drinks that should be allowed to be drunk are beer, homebrewed coffee, bottled/filtered water and green tea.

Sometimes, but I thought it was because I always get the one mixed with pudding, which then feels very heavy if I drink all of it.

I'll try the one without pearls next time and see if it's the same.

I like tapioca pudding but the large tapioca is very difficult to find at home. Never tried pearl tea. I tried so many things in China that I didn't like that I quit trying new things. Some things were so bad that I had to spit them out. That may be limiting myself. I found 2 cookies that I like and a little loaf of egg bread with almonds that I am addicted to. Every store in Guilin had that bread. Is it available every where?
