Q: Anyone else forget to register to vote?

(for Americans) I think I may have missed the deadline to register to vote online.... has anyone had any success going to the embassy or consulate to mail a ballot, or know if you can do it this late?

Yes you are way too late. Even if you were to register, you absentee ballot must come from your home state. They would mail it to you. Good luck with that. Here is a link.   http://serbia.usembassy.gov/voting2.html
