Q: Anyone else in Xiamen?

Xiamen is a cool city by Chinese standards, even kiteboarding... If you are then lets hangout, Me and the wife run a Hostel here and we hold Chinese and English corners here every week...

There is no one in Xiamen. It is a ghost town.

Xiamen is an amazing place - probably the best place I've seen in China so far. I think as far as living conditions go, it'd be hard to beat. But it is also try that it doesn't have half the job opportunities the big cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen have, unless you teach. It's got a few foreign firms, but otherwise it's quite limited.

Which is a shame...the beach, a beautiful island across, a very vibrant city and amazing weather for most of the year. Oh and...seafood?

3.5 million people. I went there for close to 3 weeks and met lots of foreigners.

Stop trolling, Martin.

I spent one week there last year. The beach is my favourite. I love the sunset.

Hi, I'm in Xiamen for the 4th-5th time now. I kind of like it here, but I wouldn't call it the best city in China... My favorite is still Hangzhou.
Xiamen is probably simply too hot for me...

xinyuren:

Hangzhou is great, but it has a winter.... i hate cold weather.

A: What are you going to do, if I tell you answer is: 'forever' or 'never
A:What are you going to do, if I tell you answer is: 'forever' or 'never'? Chinese recruiters don't have the same habits as the western recruiters have ... Never stop sending your CV to the job offers, not even when you have an invitation or two for an interview! Don't expect Chinese will send you "Thank you for your application. You weren't selected at this time ...!" notice, so keep sending yer CV to the newly posted job openings. Looking for a job in China was like a part-time job in my time in China ... Good luck! -- icnif77
