Q: Anyone heard about the scandal with Hampson English?
In one of it's Beijing schools the parents complained a foreign teacher ( An American guy) sexually harassed their 19-year-old daughter,showing her porns during a private lesson.
Well, I guess this means that it will be tougher for Foreign teachers in general and American teachers in particular to get a visa here....
19 year old daughter is already for the most part an adult (though I still think it is a sleazy thing for a teacher to do that to his/her/its' student).

The parents complained that (read "it is alleged that") but this thing has obviously already been plastered all over the media. I prefer to wait for the full story to emerge before casting judgment. Not that the full story is ever likely to emerge. He is guilty by media bandwagon like many others.
Do you have a link? I haven't heard about it, and doubt I would be interested even if I had.
She's an adult, not a child, so it's not really a big deal. In a world where they have real teachers and real ethics, it might attract a little attention, but China? Really?

realistically i say it is his fault because you do nt have private lessons alone w/ a student. either go to a coffee shop or the library or the parents home.
false allegations do happen in the states and when you come to the lieingest, scammingest, cheatingest and manipulativest country in the world you must use common sense.
The general rule most people tend to forget is: never mix personal life and work together or your going to have a bad day!
