There are a couple on Craigslist - Seattle Washington U.S.A. I was looking at them last night and they claim it does not matter where you are as long as you have access to the net. They are under gigs - writing. I hope that helps you.

There is also a competition to write a short story on there. The prize is 1000$ U.S. You can really do some fun stuff in China for a grand, so if your good, you should enter.

You're from China shouldn't be hard for you to find a job here for writing....check your local t.v. station and some other  websites such as this one...I won't give out my favorite one because I win free prizes there.....but yes Echina is hiring...

I made a profile on elance, I was looking for anything translation/writing-related, but I didn't get hired because that place is a sweatshop.

Networking is probably very important...

This is an old post, what happened?

sorrel:

unfortunately you could probably get a lot of work from students wanting papers written/tidied up

Nothing happened, I was not massively surprised though. It was more a shot in the dark when I was bored.

I tried the elance thing too but, as you say, it's a sweatshop. Someone wanted me to do 10'000 words for US$30. I was not best impressed with that.

Unfortunately it seems very difficult to get a regular paid gig.

Any luck I've had recently has been freelance feature or opinion pieces for things back home.

Good luck.

Are the jobs for Echina paid? They always seem to be looking for stories . half the time we here on the answers forum  are their inspiration       indecision                                                                                                                                                                                    Or you could do what Sparky / Sprite does but she only gets Wu Mao per postno
