This is a really, really good telephone but it's not cheap...maybe not as expensive as iPhone and Samsung but it's wldly popular among university students here in China.  It costs about RMB 2,000 for the current version.  It supports, but does not use Android, and perhaps Windows Mobile can be installed on it but not for sure.

Look here for more details:

I don't have a xiaomi phone but i have the xiaomi system on my phone.  Its pretty good.  I like it way better than android.

The first generation was just an attempt to make a cheap good phone and it was ok.  the second generation seems to be much better

I have the Xiaomi phone. I haven't tried installing any apps on it yet, but I can tell you that there are major bugs.

It will pop out of silent mode sometimes, for reasons I can't fathom.

Some of the apps it comes with are poorly designed in my opinion. I copied some music onto it and it wouldn't play my playlists so I had to make a new one for the album. It also has a calendar feature, but the event list doesn't automatically scroll to the right day - you have to do it manually.

Also when you are sending text messages, there's no way to copy/paste text from a message, you have to copy the whole message, then paste it into the compose window, then delete the characters you don't want, then copy it again. Quite stupid.

Oh, and the biggest problem is that the Wi-Fi doesn't work. Your wi-fi will never connect, so you can only use your data plan to browse the internet.
