Good question! You can find extensive information about the HSK, including details about level 3, at

The site has an HSK Prep tool with lots of mock exam questions which you can use to familiarize yourself with the format of the HSK.

Generally for the HSK 3:
-Around 600 characters and words are required vocabulary
-No pinyin is provided
-Listening material is played twice
-About 1 minute to answer each question in the listening and reading section
-Writing is from material that is given, e.g. a few characters -> make a sentence out of it
