I am interested in this too. I like the Chromebook concept, and I was thinking of asking a friend to buy me one in the UK and bring it over next time he visits.

Anyone have any experience of them here ?

I have been researching the purchase of a chromebook. My biggest concern is whether all the google stuff is reliable in China. I would love to receive some advice regarding other people's experiences.

I'm a tech, don't buy a chromebook. Yes 90% of Google's stuff won't work and it's not a secure or stable system yet... still a few bugs to work out

Thanks for the heads up Mr Ironman. You have saved me some cash.

I recently read about the 2014 models. They sounded impressive. I guess that'll learn me for reading manufacturers blogs (and believing them...a little).

When I read about the Chromebook I also liked what I heard and then I started reading the hardware and reviews. It didn't mix well. But I do feel a stable Chromebook will be coming soon. Its also an OS issue. Stick to windows 7 or 8, much more secure..

you are tech? what does that mean? Windows is the most insecure is there is. OS X, BSD and Linux are all more secure. From everything I read Chrome, which is based on Linux is more secure too. Android might be less secure then Windows though.

I agree Linux is more secure. But Android OS is easy to Hack.. Windows is unfortunately are best choice for everyday use.
