Q: Anyone want to meet up in Beijing for next weekend's (May 31st) holiday?

I'll be taking the train up there in the morning and will probably only stay 2 days. Anyone in Beijing or traveling to Beijing care to meet up? I literally have never seen another foreigner in my city so I am dying for some non Chinese company lol.

No chance matey.  I live 2 or 3 time zones from Beijing.  Where do you plan to stay there?

A few years ago I stayed in a fantasic hostel in the Sanlitun District where there was a great Indian restaurant and Tiger draught beer on tap.

Why is there a holiday next week?

Haha I was planning on renting a place on AirBnb, but I've decided to not go when my other friend couldn't come and I realized that because of the holiday, EVERYONE would probably be traveling to Beijing. I'm not much for sightseeing to be honest and I REALLY hate being around a bunch of people in crowds and waiting in line and whatnot, ESPECIALLY in China...so I will go during my summer vacation when everyone else still has to work.

Why don't you go to Qingdao?  It's not far from you and this is the best time of the year to be there.  Stay at the Home Inn on Hong Kong Rd near Taiwan Rd.  Close to the sea and downtown Hong Kong Gardens.  Thousands of restaurants...Korean, French, Italian, Thai, Japanese..and places to drink beer and speak English.

Walk west along the seaside path to Badaguan District and check out the lovely old German architecture.  Come home on bus 321.
