Q: Anyone worked on those shitty jobs?

Seeing many people have no degree working more than 10 hours a day in resturants and shops who get shitty payment.

Have you ever worked on those jobs? Resturants, bars, grocery store.,etc. How do you feel like it?

I am not sure whether I could work for more than 10 hours a day and got shitty payment.

What a crazy world! I feel so many poor people out there now!

I think those business owners treat those employees like horse. I understand people have no degree usually get lower paid as they aren't trained to do highly demanded job. But they shouldn't be forced to work more than 8 hours. If they are forced to work more than 8 hours, don't they deserve a fair payment?

The government does nothing about it! Make me angry!

If I am ever to be a boss one day, I am not gonna make my employee work more than 8 hours a day. Maybe efficient work but no more overtime working! At 5pm or 6pm, everyone should go home relaxing!

No shit payment. If I can't afford, I only hire less people  or don't hire anyone.

I have done the shittiest job.

Actually working with a shovel, shoveling human shit out of clogged septic tanks. It was my first job when I was in high school.

It taught me a lot.

It is indeed an unfair system of relative economic slavery that we live in. I've done more than my share of shit jobs in my time. Not good at having a boss either; threatened to throw one down a flight of stairs once, and another I threatened to throw off a roof. Never going back to working for anyone else again.

That's what I am trying-Self- employed.

A lot of bosses are narrow minded judgemental assoholes act like spoiled child can't stand diffrent opinions and many make you work as slave.

overpopulation and something about the culture,,,, remember the 'kowtowing' that used to go on?  Han are taught from birth not to question authority, not to fight back, seemingly no concept of human dignity or human rights,,,, ok, I don't wanna go into some long-winded diatribe.

Yeah, we have all had shi**y jobs.  I guess my worst was, well, actually I've never really had a job I didn't like.  I've had teenage jobs though,,, drive-in movie attendant for one, did everything from box office to concession stand to swabbing down the cans. Tongue  But I expected to have/do teen kid jobs and actually liked having them.

*note about that photo:  try that in the US and you would find yourself in jail.  but to be honest you wouldn't make it to jail cuz when u told employee to do it you would get your face slapped if you told a female to do it, or your nose punched if u told a guy to do it.  but it's really a moot point because people don't tell other people to do those kind of weird behaviors in the US.  At least I've never seen or heard about it.

Viki87:

A lot of employers are just a piece of shit.

I worked for western company too, the boss from that one is an assohole.

yep, assholes are everywhere, every creed, every color, every gender, every race, every nationality, there is no doubt about that.  The difference between the US and a lot of other countries is that a Trump Tower Doorman could sue D. Trump (or at least the corporation) and if he had a legitimate case he would rcv justice. At least you can pretty much count on that in the States.  100% of the time?  No,,, but a good 98% I bet.  Little guy is still protected by the Rule of Law.

I don't recall the details about the photo, but in general it was in the PRC, happened supposedly not so long ago, the big boss felt the employees had fkd up somehow and he ordered them to do this, crawl around on their hands and knees as punishment.

Perhaps someone else remembers more specific details.

yes, little pay for long hours work has always been around as long as greed and more profits are in play. Usually in the US if u worked 8 hours at reg pay any time after the 8 hours u get paid overtime usually one and a half time pay more,. The reason people work long hours for little pay for a pathetic job is because people need a place to live food to eat and other neccessary daily essentials to survive. And knowing there are 100s more unenployed people in line to take your job if u quit get fired or get promoted is always on thier minds while they are working. A lousy job and pay with long hours are better than starving or being poorer than u already are. In other words, a little of something is better than a lot of nothing Some are thankful of what they have Plus hard work builds aelf respect and u keep your dignity

I work to live.

But I have got some skills. Even if I failed in Shanghai, I can get another office job in other cities for working in the office. Why work as a horse to make myself so tired? I prefer spending less and being jobless if there's no good job. I can sleep on my friend's floor for free or live on my parents' house for free. Or go rent a cheap room for 300rmb in a poor Chinese village to enjoy a relaxing month just reading and improve my English.

I worked 11-13 hours a day as a supermarket manager before but I got paid very well...

Viki87:

How about compares to the office workers?

I just worked like 1-3 hours as my part time job in a shop when I was a college student, then I always work in the office. Office jobs work less.

I was making 80,000AUD a year from the supermarket. I had an office job that paid me 70,000AUD a year.
Most supermarket managers in Australia make between 70-120k depends on the sales ect... Office workers make between 50-200k I guess but the average would have to be 60k.
The supermarket workers who just put things on shelves or sell items make 22AUD per hour in my store or full time workers make 43,000AUD per year.

To translate any of this in to RMB x the number by 5.

Crazy working time in super market, I'd rather go for 60K average office payment, as a matter of fact, office workers make more considering of time.

And a senior manager in office definetely make much more than duper market manager does.

Supermarket, grocery store, resturants, shops are just places to make people work like slaver.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
