I really like surface pro,but it costes 5688rmb,it is too expensive to buy for me. And ipad and Marcbook Air are light to carry with, and I guess it is enough for me to deal some business emails, shop management and simple site editting on both of them, but both of them are expensive still. So I decide to get something similar to surface pro,Marcbook Air or ipad from another brand but inexpensive and relatively reliable with the quality. Plese give some recommendation. I used to have an ASUS netbook but the quality is shitty. I do not want netbook anymore. I just want something light to mainly deal with my business and easy to carry with.
You could take a look at Xiao Mi. They have a reputation for doing things cheaper. I was pretty satisfied with my phone a while back... until it broke. Then I went Apple and never looked back. I think the problem with the Xiao Mi phone was that not much idea has been put into its internal stability. Phones take beatings when we drop them, toss them on the bed, or "lightly" toss them on a desk even. I think the tablet may be looking into though because we don't carry tablets around like we do phones.
*edit* Taking a look at the Xiao Mi website, it appears a 64 GB tablet can be as cheap as 1500 RMB. Seems like a good deal to me!

My wife has a mipad. She uses it for watching tv, occasional taobao and little else. She got it to see how useful a pad was before blowing a wad on an ipad.
The verdict was that a tablet isn't useful if you want to do work. If you want to watch tv in bed without disturbing your hard working hubby, it is a winner. She's now hot for the latest Acer S7 ultrabook to do work on but is waiting until it comes preinstalled with Windows 10.
jetfire9000:
@Wolf, I wholeheartedly agree with that statement - the whole craze for tablets has been around for about 3 years or so, and when you don't have one you feel that you absolutely have to have one. What I noticed is that when most people get one, something weird happens. They have no clue what to do with it. And people end up using it as a gaming device or something to watch movies on. Games however suck on ipads, why not just use a PC or a console? You won't be confined to boring game concepts then.
Work is utterly impossible on a tablet because there isn't a conventional keyboard or mouse. There are tons of accessories that you can buy to turn it into a computer, but that then begs the question of why you didn't just buy a computer in the first place!
Tablets are for lounging. For news browsing. Or for conveniently accessing internet in any room in your house. That is my personal view. In other words, use it to watch Game of Thrones. You'll definitely be pleased with your tablet in that case.

Thanks for the inputs. I am very interested in buying tablet and get a real keyboard for working. Can I install excel and word in IOS and Android system to do work? Or they have other formats for me to open my excel and word format document? That's my big concern. I think tablet might be enough for my usage as I do not play game.
Can I install skype, buisiness site chatting tools(like trademanager from alibaba) and foxmail on tablet?
Can I do on line shopping and banking on tablet with my Chinese cards? I did on line shopping on my samsung galaxy phone.
iWolf:
Vicky, as it appears that you only want a "Face Toy", I'd suggest a (XiaoMi) mipad.
It has a preinstalled quasi-office suite and I guess is adequate for you to skype-sex on wifi with a white hillbilly and is very cheap. Enjoy!
Strawberry66:
iWolf:,you are fucking rude. You walk with your dick on your mind and call everyone who wants a tablet for wanting a face thing. I just like something light and inexpensive. I only make 7000rmb a month, light laptops like surface pro or other brand are extremely expensive for me. Tablet is something I can afford and they are light for me to carry around. There is no point to buy a heavy cheaper laptop while I don't want. I have no idea on technology products and I come up on ecc to ask for help. And you insulted me with wanting an ipad for face thing, did I mentioned that I only want ipad? Also whats wrong for wanting an ipad, may be the quality is reliable to choose as it is famous and so many people buy it?
Lord_hanson:
Be careful with xiaomi products. My wife bought one of there tablets and it broke the same day. I ended up buying her a decent one although I cannot remember the brand.
Strawberry66:
iwolf, just watch out with what you say. what's your difference with those chinese judge westerners to that and this ?
iWolf:
Some butt-hurt in you I sense.
There is no difference between a foreigner and a local person wanting a face-toy.
Strawberry66:
Why you fucking calling people who want ipad for wanting face? That's stupid to judge all people to the same.
iWolf:
Well that is pretty simple. A tablet such as an ipad is not a functional work tool and is useful for playing with and showing off to your friends about how cool you think you are with your new toy. Are you so busy rushing hither and tither that extreme portability V's work-functionality is vital? Ha!
Please feel free to threaten me more or of course, you could get a life. Your ridiculous outbursts are just that, ridiculous as is your indignation at being called out for the obvious.
Strawberry66:
iwoft,I do not want to deal with your ridiculous bad judgement calling. If you are unable to give advice, just be quiet.
iWolf:
If you didn't want user's opinions then you shouldn't post a question. Duh! Sorry I didn't realize that you only wanted opinions that conform to your desire for some face.
Enjoy the rubbish face-toy you have your heart set on instead of something that would be useful to your apparently hectic professional life.
Just remember: if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys

some detail will be helping in answering...
for example how rich is the guy you re sleeping with who will buy it for you?
Strawberry66:
Stop fucking say the ugly words,I am not a gold digger and I never asked any men to buy me expensive stuffs. I got pretty much everything by my own salary.
Learn to respect people,asshole.
Strawberry66:
Stop fucking saying it. I hate people judge me without even knowing me. I have been called racist, passport chaser, gold digger, wantting face all the time. Just fuck off.
I would consider iPad Air 32gb for 3288¥. Most say it is just as good as Air2 for considerably less money. Can do most things u talked about, just maybe never online purchases using bank card, as they seem to always want Windows OS.
Strawberry66:
Your inputs are really helpful and I will go check that one out. Thank you.
What if I buy a samsung tablet, will it enable to do all the things I mentioned includes the on line shopping and banking with my Chinese cards?
diverdude1:
truth is I don't know much about Samsung tablets. Maybe a little less expensive than Apple, but not much. They run Android, so they should be some software available to do anything u want. I just don't know much about them... sorry.
There is a BIG difference between tablets and laptops. Pros of tablets: making Skype calls, watching movies, reading articles. That is it. Do not dream of doing work on tablets. I don't think you can use it as an office tool. Cons of tablets: can't do work on them, hard to type.
Pro of laptops: can do work on them. Can also watch movies.
Pro of lightweight laptops like Apple Air: could be light and portable just like a tablet, but offers the ability to do work.
So I guess Diver Dude has a great recommendation for a laptop if that is what you want. There is a bit of overlap between tablets and laptops, but if you want to do office work, then get a small lightweight laptop and not a tablet.
Strawberry66:
Thank you. I know you guys' recommendation for not buying tablets for doing work could be right. I have never had tablet,I really feel want to own one. Ha...It sounds silly I know. I think surface pro is the perfect combination with tablet and light laptop likes Marcbook Air.But unfortunately the price is expensive!!! I have checked with light laptop with other brands, but they aren't much cheaper than Marbook Air and Surface pro seem like. If you have the specific items to recommend. Plese let me know. Maybe I will buy a samsung tablet or ipad to play for a while before I earn more money, then replace it with surface pro or similar one^^
I have a Galaxy Tab S, it has replaced both my phone and my laptop.
I don't know about online banking, but it works fairly well for work, at least for me. You can download apps for Excel/word/whatever programs you need. The only issue that I have come across with it, so far, is that you still need a laptop for formal presentations, as it cannot directly connect to a projector.

A chromebook would be good for you, but I doubt if they work in China.
Google Nexus - 7, 9 or 10. I have a 10, its brilliant

I don't think they are sold in the shops in China, I bought it online
