Q: Are Chinese hospitals okay for small procedures?

I may need to get some blood work done and a few small procedures. I wouldn't even consider a major procedure at a local hospital, but the small stuff should be okay.... right?

What you should keep in mind is to select the proper hospital.  In just about any city in China, there are various hospitals, some are good (and more expensive), and some are not that good.  If you were in Nanning, I would suggest to you only two, the No. 1 People's Hospital and the Military Hospital.  All the others I will not allow even my fingernails cut.

And at any, be on the look out on the instrumentation they use on you.  For example, do not take a shot, or allow blood to be drawn, unless you are certain that the needle to be used is brand new (taken out of a paper cover in front of you).

I have in the past used small local hospitals but always request to see the needle being unsealed from the plastic. But as far as procedures, only at the International hospitals
